pink poetry sky club
you can look into the sky and the pretty lights, while the society collapses around you
That's a lot of days. Saying 6772 days is cooler than saying 18 and a half years. I am here to say that out of all these days, there is a handful of days which you never forget.
Yesterday was one of those days. You know, in my age people consider "good days" to be the days when your crush speaks to you, or when you get an awesome score on your chemistry exam, or when you meet your friend and the list goes on with the things that are insignificant to me in this moment.
Yesterday's 10 minutes were so beautiful, it made my entire 24 hours feel immaculate. The sky, the sky was so pretty. Most people do not understand when I say the sky was "pretty" or how great it felt to witness it. Most people don't. I wish they did. How can you not appreciate the the sky. Read further to transition in one of those days.
Daylight bids its farewell as it reflects pink on the clouds along with a light orange sky. Like any other typical evening you are out for a walk. Kids screaming. Teenage boys cycling along the circumference of the park. Elderly groups gathered in a corner talking about their day. You just walk along random directions listening to the most beautiful music on this planet, aware of how long of a day it has been. As time goes by, you witness the sky change its colors. From blue to purple to pink and finally to orange. Pink skies have always intrigued you. Why isn't the sky pink all the time? Why blue? Science has the answer. Colloidal particles, wavelengths and the colour spectrum. But you wish from the bottom of your heart that the sky was pink. You really wish the sky could transition to pink to purple and not from blue to dark at night. Sunsets never fail to leave you in awe. Out of the all colours the sky is painted in pink. And oh you so deeply wish that time would pause. You could sit in a corner and just look at the sky forever. How pretty is it? Everything has a tint of pink and purple to it. How beautiful. Everything feels calm. Quiet. Somedays you feel like life is a movie. But this particular day, life is a painting. A simple yet gorgeous painting. You can not pause life, unfortunately. So you sit in a corner listen to your favorite beats and just look at the sky. The moon which comes around sunset. The sun that waves goodbye. It's nice to feel alone even when you're surrounded by people in all directions. Somedays it just you and the painting. No one can interrupt you. Slow Prateek Kuhad songs in the background as you just sit and watch the sky? Yes, always. In those 10 minutes you don' think about inorganic chemistry. About your exams. You don't think about how you're supposed to wake up tomorrow. You don't think about what your mom made for dinner. Your head is empty. Empty but so full of pretty things. Who says butterflies are only in your stomach? They are often in your headspace fluttering with joy as you appreciate the pretty things in life. So your secret playlist comes to an end and it starts to get dark. Pink is fading to a dirty blue colour. The moon is shining. You get up and walk towards home. And as your steps get away from your seat you wish that the sky was this beautiful all time. But people appreciate beautiful things when they least witness it. And so here comes an end to another one of those evenings. A beautiful evenning.
